India general Elections 2024 : The tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha will end on 16 June 2024. The Election Commission of India has commenced preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission is ready to hold a press briefing to disclose details about the arrangements for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sources suggest that the Election Commission may announce the election dates any day next week. The code of conduct will come into force from that day itself. Currently, the Election Commission is currently in the final stages of conducting elections across the country.

Voting for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections begins today (India general Elections 2024). Voting has started today for a total of 96 seats including 10 states and union territories. In the fourth phase, over 17.70 crore electorate in the nation are eligible to cast their votes.. Out of them 8.73 crore are women. Authorities have stationed over 19 lakh polling personnel at 1.92 lakh polling stations for the voting process.

All 17 seats in Telangana, 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 13 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 5 seats in Bihar, 4 seats in Jharkhand, 8 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 11 seats in Maharashtra, four seats in Odisha, Voters will cast their ballots today for eight seats in West Bengal and one seat in Jammu and Kashmir. This phase will complete the voting for 175 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and 28 assembly seats in Odisha.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party with 303 seats. These elections elected all 543 MPs from 17 Lok Sabhas in a total of 7 phases between April 11 and May 19, 2019. Among them 78 MPs are women.

  • First Phase- Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, West Bengal, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Andaman, Lakshadweep.
  • Second Phase – UP, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Manipur, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal and Puducherry.
  • Phase 3 – Assam, Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.
  • Phase 4 – Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal.
  • Phase 5 – Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Phase 6 – Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi-NCR.
  • Phase 7 – West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh.

Today is May 13, 2024. The reputation of many veterans is at stake in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Voting is taking place in total 11 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. It includes Pune, Shirur, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Jalna, Shirdi, Maval, Jalgaon, Raver, Beed and Nandurbar constituencies.

The Mahayuti currently holds the seats for the 11 constituencies set for today’s elections in Maharashtra. Yet, this year, intense competitions are unfolding in all these constituencies. Voting (Indian General Election 2024) is underway today in constituencies where former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, BJP leader Giriraj Singh, Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary are candidates.
